For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 437,989 carloads and intermodal units, down 2.4 percent compared with the same week last year. Total carloads for the week ending July 4 were 192,767 carloads, down 12.7 percent compared with the same week in 2019, while U.S. weekly intermodal volume was 245,222 containers and trailers, up 7.7 percent compared to 2019.
